Noise, Dust and Vapors Induction

Noise, dust and vapors are a constant problem on construction sites and contribute to a large number of workplace incidents that can be attributed to hearing impairment, lung and respiratory infections or long latency illness that can result in death or a permanent loss of hearing.

The Painting and Decorating Industry induction is to introduce workers new and existing to the ongoing industry work health and safety hazards with the aim of achieving:

  • Promoting a safe working environment for all workers and others affected by our work practices.
  • Help workers to understand the values and behavior of the workplace culture.
  • Ensure adequate work health and safety knowledge and information is communicated.
  • Ensure understanding of government rules and regulations.
  • Help workers understand their responsibilities and limitations.

The purpose of this training is to provide the requirements specified in the WHS Regulations 2011 and the  Code of Practice Confined Spaces August 2019. As such, the purpose is to provide necessary resources to enable the management of health and safety risks associated with entering, working in, on, or near a confined space, as well as the risk of inadvertent entry.

Electrical Hazards using portable power tools and equipment induction

Many workers are killed or injured every year due to exposure to hazardous electrical energy.

Electric shock, burns and falls are some of the hazards associated with working with electricity; electrocution is death by electric shock.

Working with and around electricity should be taken seriously as it is a life-threatening hazard.
